Natalia Blazejewski, 16, a student at David Prouty is this months Artist of the Month.

Blazejewski has had a keen interest in art her entire life. Through the years her work has evolved from simple notebook doodles to full on masterpieces. Growing up in a rural part of Central Massachusetts she says, “nature and human anatomy fascinate me, it sparks my creativity.”

“Although each piece of hers is different, her works all feel like they go together. She usually has some nature or anatomy theme going on in her work so that they all feel unified. Even at this young age she has already discovered her own unique style,” says David Prouty’s art teacher, Ms. O’Brien.

Blazejewski excels in painting with oil and watercolor; however, she also enjoys sculpting with clay. Overtime she admits her art style has changed and will continue to evolve as she has plans of continuing to express herself and create art in the future.

“The ability to see detail more clearly in general, and the constant need to perfect my style and art since I still feel at times that it needs more work,” she declares is her greatest strength as an artist.

Aside from being an amazing artist, she also volunteers at the Cat Connections Center in Webster, Ma and plays the ukulele in her spare time. She also participates in David Prouty’s Envirothon Club.

Blazejewski has some inspiring words to those who love art: “Keep your mentality positive, don’t let other artists art bring you down. Practice makes perfect, and your style will develop over time, so give it some.”
